Biography for 1º:

He was born in Holland.
He was a painter.
He loved to draw.
He lost an ear.

He become very famous and now you can see all kind of objects with his paintings printed on them:

We´ll finish by showing this video of the song "Vincent" by Don Mclean

As a following activity for the next lesson, we are going to center in the painting "the room"
The children are going to coloure it, or with crayongs, or doing a COLLAGE using the colours of the real painting to search in magazines for pieces of paper of that same colour.

After presenting the items of "my bedroom" in English, we´ll ask them to tell us, what picture will they draw about their bedrooms, using a style similar to Van Gogh´s.
You can also have the students draw what they see on the classroom

We can also create a collage with magazines and the painting of the "sunflowers"

I will show the results soon...

St. Patrick´s Day

Even though St. Patrick´s Day is a religious festivity that takes play the 17th of March, we can teach it in a more interesting way in the Art lesson.

During the lesson of Literacy we´ve done a COMIC about the LEPRECHAUN, a small and unfriendly elf who makes shoes and who wears green clothes and hat. We wears as well a lot of shamrocks in his body.
The leprechaun hides gold in a goldpot and maybe you can see him in the rainbow trying to hide the goldpot from everyone one day.
With this story (which can be adapted according to the student´s level and vocabulary), they have to do a comic and colour it.

On the lesson of Art, we´ll create a leprechaun out of card and a template I will upload.

Father´s Day

Next Saturday is "Father´s Day". In Art we will create a tie, the English symbol for this festivity, and children will design their own tie with coloured pencils. On the tie, they will have to write one poem from the ones attached.
